How does Venus Viva MD work?

Venus Viva is a state-of-the-art skin resurfacing treatment that has been proven safe and effective. Venus Viva combines NanoFractional radiofrequency and one-of-a-kind smart scan technology to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin. Targeting two parts of the skin, the epidermis (the outer part) and dermis ( the deeper part where scars, fine lines and wrinkles form), the Venus Viva causes Ablation (removal) of the outer, thin layer of skin and heating the deeper layer of skin (coagulation). This result is a two pronged approach to the treatment. By treating the deep layer, you treat where the fine lines and wrinkles and scars form. The end result is more collagen production that will help reduce and remove, scars, fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. Venus Viva can be used on any skin tone. It also doesn’t use harsh chemicals, so there is no chance of an allergic reaction. Venus Viva is gentler than other laser treatments. You will also notice superior results than with superficial treatments like chemical peels and microdermabrasion.

During The Treatment

Each session lasts 15-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

You will feel tiny pins on your skin followed by a little zap. Your face will then feel warm like a sunburn.

Venus Viva MD treatments may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. You’ll feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of sunburn, and your face will look red right after the treatment.

Your treatment provider may discuss applying a numbing cream on you prior to your treatment.

After The Treatment

Your skin will feel warm afterward, like a sunburn. You can ease this by fanning or exposing the area to cool air. The warm feeling should go away within 24 hours. Follow the post care instructions given to you by your treatment provider.

Yes, but only for 24 hours post-treatment. However some may experience down time for 2-5 days for more aggressive treatments. Your skin will be red and sensitive for the first 24 hours. After 24 hours you may put on makeup and resume your regular skincare routine. You should always apply sunscreen(at least SPF 30) to maintain your results and to prevent sun damage. Follow the post care instructions given by your provider.

After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve. However, one touch-up session may be needed approximately every 6 months depending on how your skin responds.
After the final wrinkle reduction treatment, results will continue to improve for up to 3-4 months. After that, the face and body continue to age, so maintenance treatments are recommended once a month or every 3-4 months depending on your condition.

Avoid touching or scratching the treatment area after a skin resurfacing treatment. Do not put lotion, makeup, or anything else on your skin, including water, for 24 hours. After 24 hours you should apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30), preferably one without chemicals. Also avoid rigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first 2 days after your session. Make sure to keep your skin clean and protected from the sun. Avoid any sort of tanning.
